About my principles Love and humility are at the basis of our acting and what we are taught. Whether we are playing a murderer or a sinister type of character we must love what we do, and care for the people and characters in our films. Humility would seem to be a contradiction in the film industry but this is what is needed most in this entertainment industry. The idea behind this is "as good or great as you think you are there is always someone right behind you even more 'gifted". And that is the key word. It is truly a gift . Some people want to be social workers no matter what the pay is. Others want to be teachers. Some people are gifted with brilliant problem solving minds and some are more gifted at the arts. What we understand and agree on is that we are all one and the same. Nobody is better than anyone else because of there looks or talent, because deep inside we know that we are judged by more important things in this life. When we humble ourselves we know we are in our right places. We know not to judge one another. I myself am the greatest offender, but my awareness keeps me intact and those I have selected to be around me as my counsel keep myself in check. Whether I scream and yell or encourage, the underlying belief is that "I only want to reach as far and as deep as I possibly can and make every actor great. Every scene filmed I want it to be great. I want everything on that camera to be great. It may not always come out that way, but this is what we strive for, this is what I teach. It is not for everyone. I am a very intense individual. Sometimes moody, unpredictable but passion fuels my soul and my incentive to want to teach is not just about money, quite the contrary. It is the passion that I want to spread, not just in this class but in life, in your life. It is my way of making a difference. That is why I have students audition. I want you to take something from this, not just give. My methods and some things I have been quoted about are controversial, but I don't want to make people comfortable, being uncomfortable is a good thing, its like your first kiss, or a really good heart wrenching sermon. They make you a little uncomfortable at first but they are kick ass in the end. My goal is to discern your potential and bring out the greatness that every one of you has. About money: I have spent my life savings on studio recordings, videos, and photo shoots throughout the 1970's 1980's and 1990's. I have made films and risked everything and lost many things because of this passion and belief in myself. I had thousands of dollars worth of phone calls to Los Angles and New York, plane flights to L.A/ N.Y. I did picture sessions and videos for every recording I ever did. I marketed myself and I believed in myself. In short, I put my money where my mouth is. Instead of nice cars, entertainment centers, jewelry, houses, and investments - I invested in myself. If you are not willing to do that, to put your money into your talent then you are a dreamer. Dreamers and me don't get along. That's why I separate them with their money and more money than the average acting class. In life you get what you pay for. My time wisdom and knowledge is way to valuable to be wasted on a few dollars yet I want to make it at least affordable for those who seriously take this serious . For those of you that would rather spend money on those expensive shinny rims but can't afford this class or the young woman who wants to be an actress or model who "can't afford it" yet has a 120.00 pair of jeans and expensive perfume and jewelry. I ask you, what have you sacrificed? Go dream away. Take your money somewhere else this is a serious business to me. |
